Tuesday 3rd June - Society Meeting

7.30pm at the Green House. Dr John Eldridge of the University of Cambridge will be talking about 'Stars in their Death Throes'. He will be focusing on how we can now detect exactly which star has gone supernova in a galaxy, and what we've learned about them and the supernovae they give rise to.


Saturday 14th June - Eastgate Centre Open Day

To promote the grand opening of the JSL observatory at Culloden Battlefield on the 21st, this open day has been arranged to bring the event to the public's attention. More details at meeting on the 3rd.


Saturday 21st June - Opening of JSL Observatory!

Details to be announced, but the observatory will be opened by the Astronomer Royal for Scotland, Prof. John Brown!
