Monthly Meetings

NB: Due to building works at Culloden-Smithton Free Church, our next meeting will take place at Inshes Church of Scotland, Sir Walter Scott Drive, Inverness IV2 3TW.

 

 


Normally, our meetings take place at Smithton-Culloden Free Church, Murray Road, Smithton, IV2 7YU on the first Tuesday of each month from 7:30pm (please aim to arrive for 7:15pm).  More detailed directions to help you find us are given below the map.

Directions to Smithton-Culloden Free Church

From A96 Kessock Bridge Roundabout

  • at roundabout at south end of Kessock Bridge take exit onto A9
  • after 0.8 miles, bear left off the A9 (Aberdeen)
  • after 0.2 miles, at roundabout take first exit onto A96 (Aberdeen)
  • after 0.5 miles, at roundabout take first exit onto A96 (Aberdeen)
  • after 0.6 miles, turn right (Smithton)
  • afer 0.9 miles, turn tight onto Tower Road *
  • after 0.3 miles, turn right onto Murray Road *
  • The Free Church is the first building on your left *

     * look out for signage showing route to Free Church 

From A96 Nairn

  • from Nairn Community Centre travel west on the A96 towards Inverness (King Street)
  • after 11.0 miles, turn left onto Barn Church Road
  • after 1.8 miles, turn left onto Tower Road *
  • after 0.3 miles, turn right onto Murray Road *
  • The Free Church is the first building on your left *

    * look out for signage showing route to Free Church

 JSL Observatory

Our Observatory is located at the Culloden Battlefield Visitor Centre, on the opposite site of the car park from the NTS Visitor Centre itself.  Plan your route from your home by clicking here.
