Highlands Astronomical Society

2013

The following year, in Feb 2013, a few of us visited the Natural History Museum for a private tour by Dr. Caroline Smith and we were some of the first people to see a meteorite from Mars, which the National History Museum had taken receipt of that day. In April that year, we visited St Andrew’s Observatory and was given an exclusive tour around the largest operational telescope in the country. We held a successful astronomy day for children at the Archive Centre and the money raised by the raffle, run by Arthur, reached £4000.
