2015
Fortunately, we received a replacement free of charge and the telescope was mounted successfully in early 2015. In March, there was a 95.6% partial solar eclipse from Inverness. We opened the Observatory to the public, which drew people from as far away as London and we had BBC Scotland (who interviewed Arthur, Chairman), Moray Firth Radio and the Press & Journal present. Unfortunately, apart from the start and finish, the partial eclipse was mostly clouded out. We were credited with being able to provide a more accurate measurement of asteroid Philomela due to the timings in the video we took back in 2010.
