An Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) has been called for Friday, 10 October 2025

Evening's programme -
To vote on the proposed motion (below) regarding moving to a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO). Details have been sent to all Members via email. If you are a member and have not received this email, please get in touch.
The motion to be voted upon is: “That the Highlands Astronomical Society closes the Observatory temporarily until such time that the Society achieves SCIO (Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation) status, in order to protect members and trustees from personal liability. The Committee will establish a SCIO Working Group of at least three trustees/members to prepare the application, seek external support if required, and report progress to members.”
