Dark Sky Observing Season Gets Underway

Added on 21 September 2019

The 2019-20 Dark Sky Observing Season opened on Friday 20th September with perfect weather and clear sky conditions.  You can see Observatory Team members Gerry Gaitens and James Hitchmough wearing t-shirts while they were setting up the equipment in the late evening!

Observatory Team member Dave Davidson reported "This was the first night of the dark sky season for Highlands Astronomical Society.  Beautiful clear sky and lots of stars.  Even caught a meteor on camera!".

It’s going to be clear skies again tonight (Saturday) for another Public & Members Observing Session starting at 9pm.

The views were spectacular last night so try to get out there and see the wonders of the dark Scottish Highland skies.
